Wir freuen uns, für unsere 6. Ausgabe der Berlin Ear Guard radio show REMASURI begeistern zu können.

Bereits seit über 25 Jahren ist Remasuri als Drum & Bass-DJ aktiv und darf somit wohl getrost zu einem der Urgesteine der Leipziger Trommelbassszene gezählt werden. Doch nicht erst seit seinen ersten DJ-Gehversuchen im Jahre 1998 befasste er sich intensiv mit Musik aller Couleur; schon lange zuvor standen bei ihm die so unterschiedlichen Sounds von Dub, Hip Hop, Techno oder Indie hoch im Kurs. Die im Laufe der 1990er Jahre aufkommende Euphorie für Jungle konnte er dann zunächst einmal nicht so richtig teilen. Erst die Entwicklung hin zum Drum & Bass-Sound machte diese Art von Musik für ihn hochinteressant, da Drum & Bass sich in einen Schmelztiegel verwandelte, in dem alle möglichen anderen Musikrichtungen – von Techno und House bis hin zur Rockmusik – zu etwas Neuem fusionierten.

Erste öffentliche Auftritte absolvierte Remasuri 1999, so bspw. in den Leipziger Locations Moritzbastei, Kosmophon oder Conne Island. Alsbald setzte auch die Zusammenarbeit mit Dreas ein, die schließlich zur Entstehung der Rolling Sounds Crew und zum Start der Veranstaltungsreihe Crowd Control führte, bei der neben vielen vielen lokalen Größen und Talenten auch international renommierte Gäste wie DJ Storm, London Elektricity, Cyantific, Brookes Brothers, D.Kay, Kabuki, Jenna G., Bassface Sascha, um nur einige Highlights zu nennen, die Tanzfläche in einen brodelnden Hexenkessel verwandelten.

Von 2010 bis 2014 war Remasuri als Booker im Leipziger SWEAT!-Club tätig und konnte dort viele neue DJs kennenlernen. Inspiriert von ihrer Musik – anderen Klängen als denen des Drum & Bass – begann auch er, neue Pfade zu beschreiten. Konkret legt er momentan auch gern eine Melange aus Space Disco, Italo und House auf – Musik im Spannungsfeld von Kraftwerk, Miami Vice und Bladerunner. Nicht sklavisch an einer Spielrichtung zu kleben und alles schön bunt durcheinander zu wirbeln, allerdings ohne beliebig aneinanderzureihen, das ist Remasuris Devise! Das Ergebnis ist ein hochenergetischer Mix aus längst vergessen geglaubten Klassikern und allerneuestem Material.

We are very excited to have Remasuri join us for the sixth edition of the Berlin Ear Guard Radio Show. For over 25 years, REMASURI has been active as a Drum & Bass DJ, making him one of the true pioneers of Leipzig's drum and bass scene. However, his deep involvement with music of all kinds began long before his first DJ attempts in 1998. He had long been drawn to the diverse sounds of dub, hip hop, techno, and indie. Initially, he couldn't quite share the 1990s wave of enthusiasm for jungle music. It wasn’t until the sound evolved into Drum & Bass that this genre became highly interesting to him, as Drum & Bass turned into a melting pot where various music styles—from techno and house to rock—fused into something new.

Remasuri’s first public performances took place in 1999 at venues like Moritzbastei, Kosmophon, and Conne Island in Leipzig. Soon after, he began collaborating with Dreas, which eventually led to the creation of the Rolling Sounds Crew and the launch of the event series "Crowd Control." This series saw local talents as well as internationally renowned guests like DJ Storm, London Elektricity, Cyantific, Brookes Brothers, D.Kay, Kabuki, Jenna G., and Bassface Sascha turn the dance floor into a bubbling cauldron of energy.

From 2010 to 2014, Remasuri worked as a booker at Leipzig’s SWEAT! club, where he got to know many new DJs. Inspired by their music, which often diverged from Drum & Bass, he began to explore new musical paths himself. Currently, he enjoys spinning a blend of space disco, Italo, and house—a fusion reminiscent of Kraftwerk, Miami Vice, and Bladerunner. His motto is to avoid being tied to just one genre, mixing things up in a colorful way while ensuring a coherent flow. The result is a high-energy mix of long-forgotten classics and the latest material.
